The Family Circle

The Family Circle

For some time now, we have been studying about the home and how God would have it to be. Fundamentally, most of us accept that we come from God; therefore, He understands what is best for us and not ourselves (Proverbs 30:5, NKJV). We are taught to trust Him, for He can direct our paths even if we temporarily lose course (Proverbs 3:5-6). Thus, when it comes to home (marriage, children, finances, time management, etc.), who is best to guide us as we attempt success? It has been and will always be God (Proverbs 28:26).

The Family Circle begins with acknowledging how God made us. The Bible states, “And the Lord God formed man of the dust of the ground, and breathed into his nostrils the breath of life; and man became a living being” Genesis 2:7). Notice the almighty authority of God, which brought forth mankind as THE unique design of Creation. Made in His image and brought into this world to serve Him only (Genesis 2:5). By design, God also shares with us how we are made humanity relational: with other human beings! The woman was created exclusively for the man, and the man was solely designed for the woman (Genesis 2:18-20). Our Family Circle begins with a proper relationship with God and centers Him among a lawfully married husband and wife (Genesis 2:24, Matthew 19:3-9, Ephesians 5:28-31). It often includes children who are to be raised in such a manner that they come to know God on their own accord (Deuteronomy 6:6-9, Malachi 2:15, 2 Corinthians 6:18, 1 Timothy 3:4-5).

This interpersonal and exclusive Circle should not be encumbered by grievance (Colossians 3:19), provocation (Ephesians 6:4), or selfish unrest (Ephesians 5:33). The natural benefit comes as children are exposed to adults that voluntarily surrender themselves to their God, children comprehend their lot towards the same (Romans 8:7). Time has taught us the value of family and the wonder they bring when godliness rules the environment (Acts 10:2). Our goal in 2025 should not solely be to reap unlimited amounts of income, material goods, or fame; instead, we should focus on the “wealth” of a godly family, one which presses us ever so gently towards Heaven, our eternal desire for the home.

Think about these things,
