In 1895, the German scientist Wilhelm Conrad Röntgen, was credited for discovering the ability to see inside the human body. His electromagnetic radiation machine leered inside the physical body, allowing it to enhance the future of medical work further. The health industry has never been looked at the same. When we see the additional benefits, this device has had on our world, we stand in awe. Medications, techniques, and operating procedures have advanced far beyond our previous use of “bed rest,” “bloodletting,” and the occasional lobotomy, which traditionally we believed exercised the mind of its demons. What a fantastic world! Still, we often find ourselves desiring to peer into the soul. Some to see what it does. Others, what it looks like. And still, those who strive to believe that there is one. Even more staggering is the vast collection of human beings who credit more of their unique life and livelihood to Röntgen and his contemporaries than the Almighty God who made us all (Acts 17:24-29, NKJV).
The Scientific Community is not one of unbelief alone but of many. The Bible states, “The fool has said in his heart, “There is no God.” They are corrupt, They have done abominable works, There is none who does good” (Psalm 14:1). This God the Apostle Paul affirmed is the God of all whether we accept Him or not. He alone stands above and beyond all comprehension (1 Corinthians 2:6- 10). At best, we stand immortal, unable to freely distinguish any or all of what God has wrought in this world. The best hope is to learn of Him and consume this eternal message of salvation given to all who freely receive it (Revelation 3:20).
I am unfamiliar with what escaped Rontgen’s mind or his lips when he received the fruition of his experiments. To see inside the human body for the first time might have been incredible. But, when one “sees” inside the mind of God, I am confident that this is even more spectacular. Notice the sentiment of Carl Boberg, who penned the words, “O Lord my God, when I in awesome wonder, Consider all the worlds thy hands have made, I see the stars, I hear the rolling thunder, Thy power throughout the universe displayed” (Boberg, 1885). That’s true X-ray vision! I can appreciate the marvelous works of many, but the brilliance of God inspires me more! Let’s operate together to gather more souls for the home. We can see what God desires for the Church from inside out. Think on these things,
