See if this sounds vaguely familiar: boy saves day then gets the girl. Truth, right? Just a thought, hasn’t mankind always desired a hero? Wanting to be that hero? To be able to rush in at the last second (to dramatic music BTW) and accomplish the miraculous! The reality is, we cannot fly, do not hold superpowers, and we cannot save. Neither physically, not spiritually.
This position is reserved only for the Lord. He is there in our darkest hour according to the forty-third of Isaiah. He prevails against any odds as recorded in the seventeenth of First Samuel. Some other little boy, like myself, may fondly remember being draped in a towel, impervious to all harm. Sadly, it dawned upon me this was impossible. However, later in life the Scriptures implored me to be draped in Christ through baptism and be “clothed” in righteousness unto the saving of my soul. No one can defeat aliens or monsters, but one can defeat the wiles of the Devil through Christ alone! Do not worry about saving the day…save your soul instead!
