Parcels from the Preacher: September 3, 2023

In the sixth of Luke Jesus states, “But woe to you who are rich, For you have received your consolation. Woe to you who are full, For you shall hunger. Woe to you who laugh now, For you shall mourn and weep. Woe to you when all men speak well of you, For so did their fathers to the false prophets”

Just a thought, ever heard the phrase, “he who laughs last, laughs best”? Repeatedly the Christ has encouraged humanity to shun the values of this world and live according to their King. The desire to be seen of men and to feel the fleeting cheer in their voices only charms to the Second Death according to the fourth of James. In the twentieth of the Psalms, we are persuaded to rise and stand upright in the Lord. The Lord will never laugh at the eternal loss of a soul, but we should not be gleeful either when engaging in those things which draw us away from His salvation.

Have the day you are meant to have in Christ alone,
